Have you ever seen a cashew growing in the wild? I had not until Belize where they are quite common but still a bit expensive. Though now I understand why.
Each fruit of the tree only has one cashew and the cashew must be roasted or heated in some way in order for it to be edible. So they do not produce a whole lot and there is some work involved in order to sell them.
I really like cashews and back home they are sort of a treat so it was odd to see so many of them rotting on the ground.
